Buying a Wheelchair

We sell manual wheelchairs and power wheelchairs from a number of different manufacturers. We also offer a range of seating options; Our pressure relieving cushions, backs and seating systems provide posture support, comfort and pressure relief to a wide range of users. In addition, we sell power add-on’s and accessories.
At Gerald Simonds Healthcare, we complete a detailed wheelchair assessment. This involves understanding your lifestyle, needs and requirements. The necessary measurements are taken to ensure your wheelchair is the right size for you and your environment. A written quote will be provided following the assessment. Once you are ready to go ahead with your order, your wheelchair specification form will then be forwarded to the wheelchair manufacturer who will begin to build your chair.
The Final Steps
The final steps of buying a wheelchair will be the delivery and final checks. From the process of your specification form being sent to the wheelchair manufacturers, to delivery of the chair to our Aylesbury address, takes on average 4-8 weeks.
A pre-delivery inspection will be performed by our dedicated technical team to ensure the chair is correct before informing your designated mobility specialist; who will then check it again to ensure everything is ready for handover.
Receiving your New Wheelchair
Our mobility specialist will contact you to arrange a handover of your wheelchair. During the handover, any necessary adjustments will be made so the chair is a perfect fit for you. You will be given a welcome pack at handover and the opportunity to ask any questions.
After buying a wheelchair, we ensure that our customer services team are there for you if you need to get in touch, they will always be happy to help and assist after sales. Our customer service team also deal with spare parts, cushions and accessories!
